duy hung buifollow your own star / VN54Duy Hung Bui is a young enthusiast in developing a new blueprint for global business, focusing on the intersectionality of international relations and entrepreneurship.
Growing up, he was so absorbed into advertisements when he was five years old. Even though he knew that the toy would not last, he was always begging his mom to buy one. Later did he realize that it was marketing methods which attracted him towards buying those unnecessary products. Guided by his intellectual curiosity, he started to look for more information about these methods because he wanted to know how he was “fooled”. When he really got into it, he was excited to put his theories to the test. When he was 10, he advertised a normal pen on a Facebook account and surprisingly sold it for a much higher price than usual. “Wow! So this is the power of marketing and communications.” If he can make good use of this, he stands to benefit from it a lot. Entering high school, he continued his passions related not only to marketing and communications, but also to entrepreneurship. He is the Head Organizer for two multiplayer video games tournament for students from gifted schools in Ho Chi Minh City. He serves as the Director of NKeague- a football tournament for high school students. He also co-founded Follow Your Own Star, a social impact enterprise aimed at advocating and promoting body positivity in teeangers. In addition, he co-founded VN54 to help youth appreciate the rich cultural fabric of Vietnam, which is home to 54 ethnic groups with different traditions. Lastly, he is personally vested to ensure the widest level of economic inclusion for society, focused on income equality. In university, he looks forward to more opportunities to apply the knowledge of marketing and entrepreneurship in practical situations such as projects and internships to gain real world experience. Furthermore, he aspires to ensure the future generation can, like him, make the most out of effective communications to achieve their goals. |
