Since he was 15, he has been interested in founding initiatives addressing the intersectionality of income inequalities, environmental issues and animal welfare.
He was in one of 34 teams chosen as Earth Prize Scholars in 2022, an intern for Uber in 2021-2022, and one of 13 finalists in the Young Investors Competition in 2021. Thanin is a calm, ambitious, and humorous individual who is able to execute things well, bring people together, and learn and adapt quickly. In 2022, he founded Soap Indonesia, a non-profit that seeks to collect used soap bars from hotels and other establishments, repurpose them, and donate them to underprivileged communities. In the same year, Thanin was chosen as one of Indonesia’s first Youth Fellows at Learning Planet, a partnership between UNESCO and Learning Planet Institute, representing the Sustainability and Environment as well as Youth Health project teams. Thanin aims to pursue the areas of business, economics and sustainability at university. By 25 years old, he hopes to realize both quantitative and qualitative impact in these designated fields and start his own business. |
