dimash turtayevglobal catalyst AllianceDimash Turtayev is a senior in high school and is studying in an IB program. He aims to focus in the areas of humanitarian science, media relations and marketing and communications to tackle problems such as freedom of the press, corruption and authoritarianism. For him, global cooperation is key to reducing conflict, and he seeks to engage in producing global advertisement or social influence projects that can create real world impact.
For him, one of his defining moments in his life is when, seeing the situation in Russia happening in front of his eyes, he sees his world perspectives changing. Against this backdrop, he has grown to understand that, for himself to grow, he must learn how to better foresee and pre-empt future issues, especially those which are outside of his control. Furthermore, he believes that human beings are of free will, and this side of humanity is instrumental to the future of human kind. In his final year in high school, he has had the opportunity to pursue different extracurricular activities. Dimash was nominated as a class representative, which was an important role for him and his class as he could direct policies which are supportive of his peers. To further expand his skill set and apply them in real world settings, he also engaged in curating and organizing charity events and school tours, in addition to completing a few internships recently. His personal hobbies and activities are music and sports. Looking ahead, he is planning to apply to pursue higher academic and experience based learning in countries such as the US, UK and other European countries. He most definitely will be targeting humanitarian sciences, in particular, undertaking a multidisciplinary programme which will equip him with knowledge, critical, analytical, research and communication skills grounded in practice to anticipate evolving and emerging humanitarian threats. He further aims to upskill on marketing and advertising topics to scale his impact post-college, where he will continue to build his own network, gain real world experience and one day, establish his own impact-led enterprise to drive systems change. |
