koei omoriPacific Young leaders summitKouei Omori is a secondary school student keen to provide an opportunity to get a better future in work and life to every student. He believes that quality education, children’s rights, and global cooperation are key to activating and empowering future generations, by teaching skills that they are interested in and personality development, to create a more sustainable and fairer world.
From childhood to adolescence, his parents provided him the freedom to study and do what he wanted. This was a very fortunate opportunity for his personal development, as he could do many things which others cannot, such as stock trading or workspace tours. These experiences inspired him a lot; without this foundation, he would never have wanted to attend a university abroad or try to think about his future at an early age When he was 16, Kouei participated in the Pacific Young Leaders summit 2022 as a representative of a Japanese high school. This is his first experience working with people from overseas to tackle a variety of real-life global issues and it was a great learning experience. However, our society faces many problems in the real world, and he discovered that to solve and tackle problems, we should need some human resources with specific skills. As well, he realized from the summit that improving the level of public trust is often the most difficult hurdle to overcome for creating systemic change, but it is also one of the most important to create a sustainable society. Kouei believes that our society requires an education system that effectively supports the development of human resources in key areas required in the future in essential areas such as healthcare like responding to the global Aging Population. Moreover, he would like to introduce the chance to learn useful skills and the Pros and Cons of the profession and also encourage them to imagine their ideal future to live with passion. |
