kerem tarmansapper robotKerem is an 18 year old international student interested in advancing engineering, on an interdisciplinary level, to advance development of innovation on Earth and beyond.
In the last ten years, Kerem lived in Turkey, Russia and UK. He has the experience of studying in absolutely different schools, including 1543, Letovo School, Eyuboglu and TASIS England. Kerem studies Advanced Placement and International A-level courses. His adaptability skills enabled him to succeed in both programs. Outside of school, Kerem likes doing sports, including professional tennis, skiing and windsurfing. He is the Founder of Sapper Robot, a unique rover which is designed to detect landmines. For this project, he combined parts of the Arduino Robotics kit with hand-made circuits which act as sensors. During testing, Sapper Robot successfully executed the algorithm, detecting the presence of an object made out of metal. As soon as the metal detector triggers the Arduino motherboard, the Robot pumps paint to the location to mark the mine. Kerem believes that engineering paired with originality provides opportunities to solve many social problems. In the future, Kerem aims to become a person of impact in the robotics or aerospace industry. |
